The cypress oil is extracted from the conical shaped cypress trees. The height of the tree goes upto 28 meters and is grown in the eastern part of the world. This tree grows in the gardens of the Mediterranean. The wood of the tree is red-yellow in color. IN the oil times, the oil was used by the Greeks for the worship purpose. The wood of the tree from which the oil is extracted was used for the purpose of building houses and ships. As per the legend, it is said that the cross on which Lord Jesus Christ was crucified was made of the wood of Cypress. The oil is extracted from the young branch twigs and the needles of this tree. The oil is extracted by the process of steam distillation.
It blends with rosemary and sandalwood oils.
