Description

Cananga odorata or cananga tree is a tropical tree native to the region of India, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. The flowers of this plant are steam distilled to obtain Cananga Essential Oil. This essential oil can have hues ranging from pale to dark yellow. The chemical components identified in this essential oil are known to have aphrodisiac properties. It is considered a natural healer for various mental issues including depression. This essential oil is an anti-infectious and anti-septic too, and is effective in healing and curing wounds. This medium aromatic essential oil is compared with Ylang Ylang essential oil but it is lighter and less concentrated than the latter. This oil is to be used after ample dilution and is not recommended for use in case of pregnancy, liver diseases, and epilepsy kind of medical conditions. It blends well with other essential oils derived from Rose, Jasmine, Mimosa, Cassia and Vetiver.
